This Savonarola chair is a wonderful accent piece in any room. We feel it would make a great desk or vanity seat, or even top it with glass to make the perfect nightstand! This unique form, sometimes called a Dante Chair, boasts an X shape to form the base the flows up in a mild serpentine fashion to form the sides or arms of the chair.
Savonarola is named for the 15th Century Florentine monk Girolamo Savonarola. This type of chair was meant to be folded and used as a traveling chair for those of high office.
This chair boasts wear and age consistent with use and history lending to it’s vintage charm. This is NOT a chair made in the 15th Century but rather a lovely reproduction suitable for modern uses.
18.5″ seat height
